A yellow sort of morning

March 7, 2010

We ventured out this morning (barefoot! woo hoo!) collecting flowers for bouquets and wreaths;  Benecia’s current morning ritual involves opening the living room curtains and blinds, checking to see what kind of weather we have and if there is a sunrise, looking for birds, and counting the pink Camellia blossoms. (Childhood is sweet, isn’t it?) We gathered these, and some yellow Forsythia branches, which reminded Bennie of other yellow things. Namely, her parasol. I know some parts of our country still have snow on the ground, but here in Portland, OR, Spring has definitely arrived. Bennie announced that it was “a yellow sort of morning”. And it was.
