We spent the day at Peninsula park for the annual Green Sprouts Fest, a family event featuring fun activities, music, educational seminars and vendors. Our friend Rebecca ran a booth there for Portland Green Parenting, the parenting community and food co-op we are a part of, so we saw a lot of familiar faces.  A picnic lunch, live music, and tons of playtime. Bennie’s favorite things (besides the playground) were the clay station and the flavored probiotic samples. I came home with heaps of flyers, business cards and brochures from healthcare providers, schools, etc.

And yes, there’s a terribly cute story to go along with the above pictures. A friend’s 7 yr old daughter decided to host a story time for younger kids on a park bench. No kids were coming, so she needed a bigger sign. B really wanted to help, since it involved markers. Once the sign was up the little girl had some very serious customers. They didn’t ever want story time to end and chased her all over the playground demanding “More stories!!”
